Booth Photographic Limited was formed in the mid 1970’s as
a sister company to Booth Supply, a Graphic Arts Supplier located
in Toronto. It’s mandate was to secure the Canadian distribution
rights for consumer oriented photographic brands targeted mainly
to home darkroom enthusiasts.
After being acquired by the Cowdrey Family in 1976, Booth moved
to a suburban warehouse in north Toronto. From that point forward,
the company expanded the line up from 6 to 20 product lines. Most
of the expansion was into the studio flash and studio accessory
markets.
In maintaining an open and honest relationship with suppliers
in the U.S. and abroad, Booth was able to bring many new and innovative
items to the market place. A strong relationship was also being
forged with the dealer base of photographic retail outlets across
Canada, through which products could be sold to the public.
In recent years, Booth acquired two other Canadian distribution
businesses and relocated to a modern 10,000 sq. ft. facility. It
has established strategic agreements with several Asian manufacturers'
further broadening the product mix available to photographers
and
imaging enthusiasts in Canada.
Today, we supply thousands of items, from lens caps to high voltage
battery operated flash to specialty photo retailers from coast
to coast in Canada. We will continue to improve in our efforts
to seek out the latest in imaging equipment and accessories for
our customers and the end users.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey W. Cowdrey
